Two super talented ladies from the world of eventing, Olympic and International rider Kitty King from Chippenham and British Open Champion 2021, Izzy Taylor from Bicester have both been selected to represent Great Britain at the European Eventing Championships taking place in Avenches, Switzerland from the 22nd to 26th September this year.
No stranger to representing Great Britain at all levels, Kitty was the highest scoring British rider in the last European Championships held in Germany in 2019 and she was the first event rider to have won Championship medals representing Great Britain in the Pony, Junior, Young Rider and Senior teams in all four categories. Kitty then went on to represent Great Britain in the Rio Olympics. Izzy was crowned the British Open Eventing Champion at the Hambro Sport Horses Burgham International Horse Trials just recently so both are well and truly qualified to ride for their country in three weeks time.
Kitty will be riding the magnificent Vendredi Biats, the super talented and consistently successful 12 year old grey gelding, owned by Diana Bown, Sally Eyre, Samantha Wilson and Sally Lloyd-Baker whilst Izzy will be riding her 10 year old bay gelding Monkeying Around, a horse she owns with Mark Sartori, another consistently successful horse who took her to victory in the British Open Eventing Championships at the beginning of August this year.
Kitty commented “I’m over the moon to have been selected for the Europeans with Vendredi Biats, it was obviously disappointing to be so close to going to the Olympics and just missing out, so this opportunity really makes up for it. I’m part of a great team so it’s going to be a really exciting week”.
John, Liz, Nick and the team at Yeoman Haylage will be watching their progress very closely as both Kitty and Izzy feed their horses on Yeoman Haylage when competing.
