Local Eventer Tim Cheffings Competed on Three Horses at Blenheim Palace Horse Trials
Eventing has to rank as one of the most adrenaline fuelled, exciting and dangerous of equine sports in the world and local Rider Tim Cheffings has well and truly had a full taste by competing in the 4* SsangYong Blenheim Horse Trials in Oxfordshire this September against the top names in 4* and 5 * eventing on not just one horse, but three – produced and trained by Tim at his yard near Tiverton in Devon.
Nine year olds Legacy and Shannondale Coco were competing in their first 4*long, having both done a 4* short before, whilst 8 year old Gaston was competing in his second 4* short. All horses gave Tim the most amazing rides in all phases. They have all returned home safe and sound and Tim is now looking forward to competing at 4* level again next spring.
Tim commented “The last day xc at SsangYong Blenheim Palace Horse Trials and both Legacy and Gaston were really good. Legacy trotted up well then went on to jump a lovely round. So pleased with him in all 3 phases as this is his first 4*long. Gaston was awesome xc giving me a great ride. Very awesome horse for next season. Coco is at home and seems very well in herself after a fall. It’s a tough sport and I’m very lucky to have some lovely horses, lovely owners and supporters. Thank you everyone”.
